Details:
One
Blackfriars is a new 52 storey tower situated on the South Bank of
the Thames in London, rising up between the Tate Modern and the Royal
Festival Hall. We were delighted to be chosen to supply the
landscaping stone for this project and worked closely with the
contractor Elite Landscapes to meet their deadlines and to ensure
stone details matched their requirements.
The
stone supply was primarily Chinese silver-grey granite and included
paving, kerbs, steps, planters, cladding and coping.
In the first phase alone there were 1200m² of 65mm thick paving in
different element sizes.
Kerb
supply included multiple varied radius units to ensure design
requirements were satisfied.
The
steps to the front of the hotel entrance include black basalt insert
visibility strips as well as special corduroy tactile paving above
and below.
During
supply for this project, due to time constraints, we successfully
supplied matching European silver-grey stone in quick time so that
the project could continue to progress without delay.
The
roof area includes a yoga garden and we supplied the kerbs, cladding
and coping for this quiet and delightful space.
We
supplied the cladding and coping units to form the intricate and eye-catching back planter and water feature area situated in the central
plaza. This included complex angled coping sections and special
bespoke shaped coping units with more than 200 individually sized
pieces. There are also special-shaped granite columns to the entrance
areas.
The
supply ran for several phases, beginning in 2017 through to
completion was in 2019.
