36 Section 3 These little blocks of stone may be small, but they are not to be underestimated - setts are brilliantly strong paving materials that can last for hundreds of years! Almost indestructible‚ setts are used to make hard-wearing surfaces for roads and pathways, but they are also used for their aesthetic qualities and can be laid into lovely and varied patterns. Setts are highly versatile and can be used for just about anything, including fine detailing, edging and even walling! Lay them in patterns to create driveways and pathways, or use them to complement more complex paving schemes by combining with paving flags or stone circles. Mix the shades up to create different multi-coloured patterns or keep things looking smart with one colour. Riven, cropped and tumbled setts will have a rustic and aged look, while sawn and textured setts will create a sleek and contemporary aesthetic. With an extensive range to choose from, endless looks can be created! Most standard sett dimensions are readily available from our CED Stone Landscape depots, but all setts can also be produced in smaller sizes from stock, or we can arrange for larger bespoke sizes to be made if required.
