Specially developed by CED for a project in Middle Temple, London, Temple Setts recreate the aesthetic look of old and worn reclaimed setts without the trip hazards associated with a rough and worn surface. Temple Setts are new setts with sawn bottoms, sawn and textured tops and cropped sides. They are then artificially aged using a tumbling technique. Tumbling wears down the setts, creating a reclaimed effect that would authentically take hundreds of years of use to achieve.
While they look old and worn, Temple Setts have a flat, textured, low-trip-hazard surface; making them ideal for disabled access areas or spaces that will be used by prams, bikes and wheelbarrows. Their standard depth dimensions make laying a far easier process than traditional reclaimed setts.
Temple Setts are available in three sizes, and are available in a range of hard-wearing natural stone materials. For multi-coloured schemes, Temple Setts can be ordered in any mix or ratio of colours and materials.
