Inspired by the ultimate garden, Eden represents a perfectly balanced eco-system that supports life but is also dependent on human care and maintenance. This is a natural and wild scheme with foliage, flowers, fruiting plants and edible herbs. The trees towards the rear give shelter and food. Wildflower turf feeds and shelters pollinators and small creatures for a healthy eco-system. Sculptures from the Henshaws Arts and Crafts Centre represent the Tree Of Life and the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. Four water spouts pour from the stone, into channels representing the four biblical rivers, Pison, Gihon, Tigris and Euphrates.
Our Grey Quartz Paddlestones are laid on edge to create a wonderful rippling effect, further enhanced by the natural sparkle in the quartzite. Scottish Beach cobbles and pebbles have been used to build up various rockery areas, and a river wall with a twist was created by freeform stone mason sculptor Johnny Clasper.
After the show, the garden was gifted to and rebuilt at Henshaws Arts & Crafts Centre in Knaresborough.
