Details
Jonathan Snow returned to RHS Chelsea this year with his second-ever show garden. Working once again with sponsors Trailfinders, his Undiscovered Latin America garden was inspired by the temperate rainforests of South America.
Jonathan travelled to Chile to research plants for the garden and his garden reflects the varied climate and diverse landscapes of the country. Trying to capture the beauty of this wild landscape, the ‘Undiscovered Latin America’ garden was built on a steep slope and boasted dramatic waterfalls. It’s planting was native and included some Chilean plants flown over from a specialist supplier. One of the most striking features in the garden was the prominent red walkway, winding through the garden. Similar walkways have been constructed in the Chilean national parks enabling visitors to admire the rainforest views.
Giles took Jonathan out to a quarry in Bolton to select the stone for his waterfalls and garden, not actually a stocked stone, we sourced this Brinscall sandstone, especially for Jonathan’s garden.
