Saturday saw the 'eventual' unveiling of a plaque celebrating John Newton, best known for being the author of the hymn Amazing Grace, and his connection to the Purfleet-on-Thames area. Being local to our West Thurrock Depot, Manager, David Smith was happy to help Trevor out, donating a rock for the plaque to be fixed to.

The Natural History Museum's new gardens are now open after a five-year redevelopment plan that transforms the five-acre garden into an urban haven for people and wildlife. The garden tells the story of life on Earth through a geological timeline, and CED Stone is very proud to have been asked by the Natural History Museum project team to source and supply almost all the stone for the newly transformed gardens.

After finding this eye-catching boulder in the CED Stone Landscape Scotland Depot's yard, we consulted our resident geologist Simon Copsey for a little more information on the interesting banding on the boulder which appeared to be raised on the outer surface of the stone. A new garden has been launched at the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham by 11 Foundation a charity set up by Former England footballer Joe Cole and his wife Caryl. The garden is the first in a line of NHS Hospital gardens planned with the ambition of inspiring like-minded businesses to support their local or district hospitals and create more of these sites across the country.
