Garden designers Rosalind Rosewarne and Charlotte Khan are collaborating as Archangelica Designs for their début show garden at this year’s RHS Tatton Park. Privately sponsored, their garden, ‘Inner Sanctum’, is inspired by famous mathematician and the number sequence named after him; Fibonacci.

CED Stone Group have been sponsoring show gardens at the RHS Flower Shows for over 27 years, including RHS Chelsea, RHS Hampton Court, RHS Tatton Park, RHS Malvern and RHS Cardiff. We had the privilege of supporting 12 show gardens at this year’s RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show and the APL Trade Stand, which saw a collaboration of the association’s members.

Witan Investment Trust PLC's most recent project, which is due to open in Spring 2017, is the ‘Global Growth Vegetable Garden’ project at RHS Hyde Hall, Essex. This innovative garden will showcase fruit and vegetables from around the world (which can be grown in most parts of the UK), challenging the image of a conventional kitchen garden.

Crohn’s Disease usually targets young people and this garden aims to tell the story of how vibrant a sufferer’s life can be, despite living with this debilitating disease.

With the help of garden designer Antonia Young and contractor Jeff Rosenblatt, Cancer Research UK are bringing the first ever virtual reality tribute garden to the RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show.

Last year, garden designer, Sadie May Stowell designed two gardens for Brand USA at the RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show, where she won a bronze and a silver medal. This year sees her returning with three gardens on behalf of Brand USA, all three of which CED Stone Group are excited to be supplying.

First timer at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, Hay Joung Hwang, is designing ‘The LG Smart Garden’, situated at the top of Main Avenue. Originally from Korea, Hay moved to the UK in 2006 where she completed various courses including interior design and floristry before training as a landscape architect at Sheffield University.

Not only a RHS Chelsea Flower Show Garden, Honeysuckle Blue is part of a larger initiative to teach children and educational groups the age-old techniques of using plants to create their fabric dye. The garden is designed by Dutch artist Claudy Jongstra, whose studio raise their own sheep, keep bees, cultivate a botanical garden and grow their own plants for dyes which are then used as materials in their work.

BALI Yorkshire and North East are collaborating with their members to exhibit their show garden ‘Tea for Two’ at this year’s Harrogate Spring Flower Show, which aims to celebrate two very different traditions and ceremonies surrounding tea. The garden takes inspiration from the very English tradition ‘Afternoon Tea’ and the traditional Japanese tea ceremony and brings them together in an effortless and simplistic manner.

2015 marked the 25th anniversary for the RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show, where CED Stone Group were proud to supply hard landscaping materials to several of the show gardens.
One of these show gardens was the highly acclaimed silver medallist ‘A Growing Obsession’, designed by Jean Wardrop and Alexandra Stevenson, with the focus of recreating a Victorian lady’s flower garden.

Generally over the years, rather than sending Christmas cards within the workplace, CED Stone Group have collected donations for a charity chosen by the staff. This year was a little different as the chosen charity – suggested by Kerry-Anne Austin, our Logistics Administrator – was to donate advent calendars to local foodbanks.

Olicana Mosaics is successfully run by David James, who designs and creates detailed mosaics for use in landscape design. David specifically creates the pieces with flat surfaces so that they are easy to walk and drive on and can therefore be used in place of a pathway or a paving slab. He also makes them in multiple pieces that fit together, so that they can be conveniently transported and installed later on.

This year's Association of Professional Landscapers (APL) award ceremony was held on 12th March at the Gibson Hall. First established in 1995 to recognise and reward the high quality of work carried out by landscape contractors belonging to the organisation. CED are very proud to have supplied four of the shortlisted projects.

Back in May we experienced huge success, supplying to numerous Chelsea Flower Show gardens, and it was with great pleasure to hear the news of Cityscapes’ “Remix Gardens” project. This project was created so that the materials from the Cloudy Bay Discovery Garden could be recycled in such a creative way that they went on to build 5 new garden designs across London.

From July 2013 all natural stone setts, paving and kerbs supplied within the EU must have a CE Mark attached to the packaging with the relevant European Nomenclature (EN) clearly stated. The requisite information may also be communicated on delivery notes, Commercial documents or electronically.
