CED Stone Group support Peter Donegan at Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show
Post date: 22 Nov, 2022
CED Stone Group are proud to announce our sponsorship of leading garden designer Peter Donegan's show garden at Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show 2023, in Australia.
Located in the world heritage site of Carlton Gardens and The Royal Exhibition Building, the Melbourne International Flower & Garden show is the largest and most prestigious horticultural event in the Southern Hemisphere.
The show
is held over five days and features the industry's finest landscape
and floral talent from Australia and worldwide. This year Peter
Donegan became the first Irish garden designer in the show's history
to be invited and accepted to design a show garden at the prestigious
show.
“We are a small but
beautiful design office completing designs at the very highest level
for the last 21 years, but it is always an honour and another
humbling compliment when invited anywhere. On this occasion to one of
the worlds best and a very beautiful part of Australia”, noted
Donegan.
“We are delighted to be working alongside
Victoria based Semken Landscaping to realise this show garden”, he
continued. “Since 1987 Martin and his team have been show garden
building and contracting at the highest level and are the most
medalled contractor in the shows history.”
“MIFGS have
just released designs and through a contemporary style
it is the
vision of a love story and hearts separated by a small
island, an impossible journey to the mainland and a want to be
together. That
the build will take place in a particularly beautiful
country that
I’ve never been to, in another hemisphere is another always
interesting journey, with so much more to be announced
soon.”
continued Donegan.
The
sponsorship was born from a chance meeting at Futurescape, the
UK's largest landscape expo and trade event held in November at the
ExCel London. Giles Heap, CED Stone Group MD explains:
"I
ran into Peter Donegan at Futurescape 2022, and we decided to have a
coffee and a catch-up. Twenty minutes later, we had signed up to
help. "Why would you do that?" you might ask. Why not?
Peter is a good friend and a great designer, and to be given the
opportunity to help the garden design industry create
strong-international relationships is something that all in our
industry should aspire to."
CED
Stone Group have worked with Peter on a number of projects over the
years, including supporting the Northern Roots Oldham Garden for RHS
Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival 2020 and The Perennial Garden
designed by Peter and built by Burnham Landscapes which won Silver at
the 2019 RHS Flower Show Cardiff.
The
show kicks off in Melbourne on the 29th of March 2023, and we're
really looking forward to seeing what Peter brings to the table.
Whatever it is, we can be sure it will be great adventure.
