Saturday saw the 'eventual' unveiling of a plaque celebrating John Newton, best known for being the author of the hymn Amazing Grace, and his connection to the Purfleet-on-Thames area. Being local to our West Thurrock Depot, Manager, David Smith was happy to help Trevor out, donating a rock for the plaque to be fixed to.

Go Team Hortistone! Perennial’s #PlayThePitch Raises £8,000 at LCFC
Perennial’s #PlayThePitch fundraising football tournament at Leicester City Football Club raised just over £8,000 – with CED Stone Group and Horticultural Week joining forces as Team Horti Stone, it was a day of fun, football and teamwork.

Visitors to Bloom in Dublin can expect a feast for the senses this weekend when they visit the ‘Cuprinol Kaleidoscope of Colour’ garden, which features in the medium sized garden category at Bloom. The conceptual garden features a contemporary take on the traditional and centuries old rose garden.

The Midlands depot of natural stone specialist CED Stone Group, based in Langley Mill, Nottinghamshire, was honoured to be asked by award-winning local garden designer Jackie Setchfield, to supply materials for ‘Rosie’s Garden’ at West Bridgford Junior School. CED’s paddlestones will be a notable feature in the memorial garden for pupil Rosie Perry Jones, which is being opened with a ceremony on Friday December 9th at 4pm.

Late last year CED Stone Group, supplied Little Havens Hospice with stone products for the design of their interactive ‘grow your own’ garden, made for the children at the hospice. The garden was designed by Eden Horticultural Ltd in collaboration with Emma Hanford from Greenfingers Charity.

CED Stone Group announces its sponsorship of the Party for Perennial, a fund raising dinner to support the Perennial charity in its efforts to assist horticulturists in the United Kingdom. This is going to be the first time that the fund raising event will be held for 100 years.

Generally over the years, rather than sending Christmas cards within the workplace, CED Stone Group have collected donations for a charity chosen by the staff. This year was a little different as the chosen charity – suggested by Kerry-Anne Austin, our Logistics Administrator – was to donate advent calendars to local foodbanks.
