Congratulations to the 2018 PLB Award winners

Last week on Friday 9th February CED Stone Group were proud to be headline sponsors of The Pro Landscaper Business Awards held at East Wintergarden, Canary Wharf, London. The annual competition only in it’s second year, is fast becoming one of the highlights of the horticultural and landscape year.

Sponsored and judged by some of the biggest names in the industry, these awards recognise and celebrate the excellent standards set within the industry. This year with over 15 categories, every part of the sector is given the opportunity to shine at this prestigious event.

MD of Pro Landscaper Jim Wilkinson introduced this years ceremony and commented, “Wow! The second Pro Landscaper Business Awards and the competition gets harder and harder to judge. This year, we had a 40% increase in entries and we’ve almost doubled the number of attendees.’ The host for the day was BBC journalist and presenter Tina Daheley and a three course luncheon was served while guests got to reconnect with old friends and colleagues, and form relationships with new ones.

As headline sponsors of the event, our MD Giles Heap was given the ‘almost impossible’ task of choosing one company to win the highly coveted overall Supreme Winner award. On announcing the winner Giles stated, ‘Any company that puts the wellbeing of their teams and their local community, above profit, is to my mind one to be respected, congratulated and if at all possible, emulated.’ The award went to Elmtree Garden Contractors Limited for its commitment to the industry and to staff training. Elmtree also took home the award for Landscape Company between £2m - £10m.
