The Cabin At Hortus Loci, Hook - A Beautiful Partnership

CED Stone Group are delighted to announce we are adding a new pin to our map with the opening of The Cabin at Hortus Loci in Hook.

Launched in 2011, Hortus Loci is a wholesale plant nursery that supplies an unrivalled range of trees, perennials, shrubs and other plants for professional gardeners, landscapers, designers and their clients. The Plant Centre at Hortus Loci is their retail arm which is open to the public 7 days a week.

Giles Heap, CED Stone MD has known Robin and the team at Hortus Loci for many years and when Robin told him about his exciting plans for their site and asked if CED Stone might be interested in joining him on this journey, he knew this was an opportunity not to be missed.

Giles states,

"Hortus Loci are known for their high-quality plants and comprehensive service. CED Stone is known for our high-quality landscaping products and expertise in all things stone. We both have the same client base and the same high standard of service that designers and contractors demand. It's a perfect partnership."

Robin and Mark at Hortus Loci add,

"We found it quite tricky to write this without resorting to the usual cliches about how our products are so often combined to create wonderful spaces in gardens and landscapes. The main reason being that they are! From our side of the fence (or should we say path) it is the fact that the team at CED are so nice to deal with from top to bottom. We have built our business on the fact that we are knowledgeable, helpful, offer a wide range, but above all personable. We have seen these same attributes running through CED in all our dealings, from Giles at the top through the sales team, down to the men and women on the ground at the depots and their drivers."

Conveniently located near Hook in Hampshire, midway between junction 11 of the M4 and junction 5 of the M3, the site is within easy access of both our London East and London West Depots and the London area in general. The cabin in Hook will serve as a mini CED Stone depot with a display area, being built by our friends Burnham Landscaping.

See below a map of areas within an hour of Hortus Loci by car. As you will see we are within easy reach of Oxford to the North, St Albans to the North-East, Redhill to the East, Haslemere to the South-East, Lyndhurst in the New Forest to the South-West, and Swindon to the North West.

Visitors to the cabin, will be able to browse the display and pick up our new brochure or samples. Our friendly face on site will be Lee Bryant who will be there to answer questions and advise. With the change in the marketplace and lessons learned during the lockdown, 'click and collect' has become an even more popular service and although we will not be stocking materials on-site to start with, clients will be able to place orders for delivery or collection at the site.

The cabin will be the perfect venue to bring your clients to view our range of products, also to sit down with them to discuss options over a Coffee and the legendary brownies from The Hobo Co.

Giles explains,

"By having a presence in Hook, designers and contractors can pop in without having to come up to London. Choosing stone can be tricky to do on a Zoom call, so by partnering with well-known and trusted nurseries like Hortus Loci, and having a presence on their site, we give clients the chance to visualise how our products will coexist with some of the amazing specimens that Hortus Loci have to offer. Saving time on travel, reducing meeting times and days out of the office while reducing the co2 footprint of every project."

The Cabin will be opening on Good Friday and will be welcoming visitors throughout the Easter weekend, we hope to see you there.
